Sharing some good thoughts

I don’t have a lot of time today to develop a couple of thoughts I have for future posts, so I thought I would share some good thoughts from other blogs that you might like.

Recently I’ve been talking about things that we can do to help the less fortunate.  Specifically, I’ve been asking what I can do to help people in Africa.  Well, I found an interesting article the other day dealing with what the Bible says about helping the poor.

Chris makes some interesting points in this article.  While many of the passages he cites are in the Old Testament, I believe they underscore some principles that God has laid down for all times.  Followers of God are meant to be people that care for those who need help.  I think if we forget that, we are on the wrong path.

On a different topic, a friend of mine has recently started a new blog similar to this one.  The only difference will likely be that the stuff he writes will be good! ;)  I really enjoyed this post that he made a few days ago about an epiphany he had while driving.  I believe that cynical negativity is a cancer on our society.  This kind of thinking is very damaging to our spiritual lives, and is extremely infectious in a group!  Whether it’s your family, or your congregation, try to put a stop to this way of thinking by being a positive active influence on those around you!  If you start thinking positive and get to work, those around you will slowly come around.  Just don’t give up!!

Ed has written some books besides his blogging activities.  You can browse and buy at another of his sites, Streamside Supplies.  Btw, I often wonder how many fly fishermen click on his site with great hope, and leave bitterly disappointed! :)

There are many links in this post…if you like the site then please, click on them all!  The more clicks of this type that we can get, the better this site will do in search engines, and the more people we can reach.  Please, share this site with anyone that you think will be helped by it.

I hope that you have a wonderful holiday weekend if you live in the states! Spare a thought for us enduring the cold, rainy Australian winter while you watch some fireworks!  Love to you all!
